Established in 2000, Florida Atlantic’s Parliament of OWLs (Older, Wiser, Leaders) recognize the leadership and academic achievements our students have shown during their tenure on campus.
Each inductee receives a special gold lapel feather as a symbol to represent Florida Atlantic’s mascot, the burrowing Owl. The feather reminds those wearing it that the wing is necessary for the owl to be carried forward. Each member in the Parliament of OWLs has contributed to Florida Atlantic’s ability to rise.
To be considered, nominees must have held, or currently be holding an official student leadership position and/or demonstrated incredible leadership and service while at Florida Atlantic. That role must either be with a registered student organization or a formally recognized Florida Atlantic program, athletic team, etc. (Owls Care leaders, orientation leaders, university performance groups, resident assistants, student publications staff, etc.).
