Michael Reiter is the president of Michael Reiter and Associates, a Palm Beach-based security and investigative firm providing global protection and advisory for individuals and organizations. After more than 30 years of law enforcement experience, he retired as the eighth Chief of Police for the Town of Palm Beach.
After the September 11th attacks, Reiter was appointed to the executive board of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. He was a member of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum Leadership Council during the creation of the National Law Enforcement Museum, located at Judiciary Square in Washington, D.C.
Reiter led the Palm Beach Police Department during its investigation of serial human trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, the only law enforcement agency to successfully investigate Epstein that resulted in his conviction, registration as a sex offender and incarceration.
Reiter has been interviewed on numerous network television news programs and documentaries including the Today Show, Dateline, ABC Special Reports, and was featured in a Netflix series. He has also authored articles and instructed professional training and college courses on leadership, crisis management, criminal investigation, mass casualty attackers, and cybercrime.
Reiter earned a Master of Science from Palm Beach Atlantic University, Bachelor of Arts from Florida Atlantic University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Harvard Kennedy School Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government. He received the Palm Beach Civic Association Raymond J. Kunkle Award, Town of Palm Beach Employee of the Year award, Worth Avenue Association Above and Beyond Award and the Palm Beach Atlantic University Distinguished Alumni award.
Reiter is also a Director of the Palm Beach Civic Association and a member of the Town of Palm Beach Strategic Planning Board.
