Student Alumni Association

What is the Student Alumni Association (SAA)?

Florida Atlantic University’s Student Alumni Association is a student organization that works closely with university alumni and emphasizing that even though you are a student today, you are an owl for life. The Student Alumni Association, also referred to as SAA, proudly holds the title for the largest student organization on campus. The Student Alumni Association houses two branches: the prOWLers, and the Ambassadors. Now this can get a bit confusing, so allow us to break this down for you! By becoming a member of the Student Alumni Association you have the ability to choose a branch that develops what you want out of your college experience. Both branches focus on maintaining the traditions and values of our institution, highlighting the diverse environment that is Florida Atlantic University.

Neal Sinha

Senior, College of Social Work and Criminal Justice

My name is Neal Sinha. I’m a senior in the Bachelor of Social Work Program at FAU, and I’m an Ambassador-in-Training. I wanted to become an Ambassador when I was walking down the Breezeway, and I saw someone tabling for the Student Alumni Association. I had wanted to become involved in something, and when they told me about the Ambassadors, I thought, “This is it!” I wanted to become part of the University environment, but as a non-traditional student, opportunities felt limited to me. However, representing the school, volunteering, networking, and gaining leadership experience seemed like a beautiful opportunity. And that’s what I want to experience. During my time at FAU, I’ve had some notable achievements that I never dreamed were possible. I have been a regular member of the President’s List since I have returned to school as an adult. I was recently elected to be the Florida State Bachelors Student Representative to the National Association of Social Workers. And, last year, I was published in a national Social Work newsmagazine. To other students who are considering joining, my advice to you: “Don’t say no; try new things.” You’re in college. You don’t know what you might end up loving. But, don’t say yes to too much; you do have classes to pass.
