The association of American Medical Colleges is estimating by 2032 there will be a shortage of 123,000 physicians in the US. Thankfully Florida Atlantic University’s Schmidt College of Medicine is creating a critical pipeline of new doctors.

Thirty-five physicians from the college finished their residency programs, and some are the first to graduate from the program in emergency medicine. Helping this state in our times of need, 60% of graduates in internal medicine will remain in Florida. Together with 5 leading partner hospitals in Palm Beach County, FAU’s College of Medicine has accredited residency programs in internal medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, psychiatry, and neurology.

These programs will ensure the region will have a robust and well-trained physician work force for years to come.
