You are able to renew and/or upgrade your plate at any time. Registration renewal begins 3 months before the registrants date of birth. This is the ideal time to switch your plate.
If you just renewed your plate or if you are on a multi-year renewal cycle, you can still switch over to an FAU license plate. You will be charged for the new plate, usage fee for the plate and processing fee (additional fees may apply). The total amount owed will be processed on an individual basis by the Indian River Tax Collector. License plate registrations are not prorated.
