Dr. Roland N. Bullard, Jr. earned his B.A. in Communication from FAU, a M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina in Student Personnel Services, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Indiana University. Dr. Bullard is a higher education and student advocate who serves at Dillard University as Vice President for Student Success. In this role, Bullard has oversight for student affairs programs and services. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Orleans in the M.Ed.- Higher Education program and teaches undergraduate FYS (First Year Seminar) courses in the University College at Dillard

Prior to his appointment at Dillard, he served in a similar role as Vice President for Student Development at Saint Augustine’s University (Raleigh, NC) and other various student affairs positions primarily in Residential Life and Student Activities. He has also held academic appointments serving as Dean at Saint Augustine’s and Charleston Southern University.

A community advocate, Dr. Bullard is an active member of the Children’s Youth and Planning Board (a New Orleans City Council appointment) and was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2018. He also volunteers for STEM-NOLA which exposes minority youth to STEM concepts. He is a year 2000 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. (the oldest African American Greek letter organization in the world) and is a current member of the Sigma Lambda Chapter (New Orleans, LA.) He currently resides in Kenner, LA with his partner, Rachel, and two boys, Roland and Raylind, 14 and 7.
